Augustana College offers a $1,000 music scholarship to LSM alumni who meet the requirements of admission to the college; the scholarship will be available to first-year students enrolling in the Fall of 2015 and beyond. The scholarship will be renewable annually, for four years, as long as the student is continuously enrolled in pursuit of their first Bachelors’ degree, is making satisfactory academic progress, and participates in a music ensemble or serves campus ministry as a chapel musician. LSM alumni are also invited to audition for one of Augustana’s Pro Musica Scholarships, which range in amounts from $1,000 to $5,000 annually. These awards are based on talent and instrumentation need. Music awards are open to all majors. The LSM alumni scholarship may be awarded in addition to another talent scholarship and academic award.
Founded in 1860, Augustana is a selective, private, residential, comprehensive (liberal arts and professional) college affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Central to our mission are five core values—Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community and Service—that serve as the foundation for the College’s academic and student life programs. Augustana is located in Sioux Falls, a city of 162,000. Our city is consistently recognized as one of America’s best small cities and is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the heartland of America. Sioux Falls is the business, health care, shopping, entertainment, and cultural center of the region. Augustana is at the heart of the arts. Approximately 25 percent of our students participate in the performing arts, both majors and non-majors. The arts are an essential component of our curriculum and are deeply ingrained in the tradition and culture of the College.
