Anne Krentz Organ

Anne Krentz Organ is a church musician and composer living in the Chicago area.
Anne is the primary composer of Setting 12, a musical setting of the liturgy found in All Creation Sings, a hymnal supplement of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Additional liturgical compositions are included in Evangelical Lutheran Worship and the three volumes of Music Sourcebooks: Lent and the Three Days; Advent through Transfiguration; and Life Passages. She is the composer for the liturgy With Sighs Too Deep for Words, an expansive language liturgy found at https://htlcmpls.org/expansive-language-liturgy/. Anne’s published compositions include fifteen volumes of hymn tune arrangements for piano, additional volumes for piano and instrument, numerous choral pieces, psalm settings, handbell pieces, hymn introductions and alternate accompaniments, and music for congregational singing.
Anne holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Valparaiso University, a Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Illinois, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Church Music from Concordia University Chicago. She is a recipient of the Richard Hillert Award in Composition. Her compositions are published by Augsburg Fortress, Choristers Guild, Concordia Publishing House, Hope Publishing Company, and MorningStar Music.
Anne has served as the president of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians. She has served on the Advisory Council for the Institute of Liturgical Studies at Valparaiso University. Anne has taught at the Institute for Fine and Performing Arts in Evansville, IN, and at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, IL. She has previously served on the staff of the Lutheran Summer Music Program as organist and handbell choir director, additionally teaching classes on composition, church music, and hymnody.
