Concordia University, Nebraska offers the B.Mus. in church music and music education and the B.A. in music with concentrations in performance, composition, church music, conducting, and general music. Graduates are in high demand, especially in church music and music education, and 7 current students or graduates (and counting . . .) have won national competitions since 2020 (see details on Concordia’s music website).
Concordia’s music department occupies the Borland Center, which opened in 2023. Most of Concordia’s pianos are Steinways purchased since 2020, and Concordia has 12 organs by 11 different builders. Concordia currently has about 15 musical ensembles.
Due to the generosity of Concordia’s donors (Concordia has over 40 endowments providing funds for music scholarships), Concordia is able to offer substantial scholarships for music starting at $5,000 per year for music majors and $4,000 per year for non-majors. Students with top academic and music scholarships often have nearly their full tuition covered. For current information, see www.cune.edu/musicscholarships.
