A Surprise Reunion After 15 Years

This past weekend brought a joyful reunion for two members of the LSM community: Josh Hernday and Spencer Martin. Josh, who served as an orchestra intern (2009–2010) and later as events manager (2015–2016), had the opportunity to perform alongside Spencer, a former and returning LSM faculty member.

The two shared the stage as part of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, joining world-renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine in a concert recorded by Wisconsin PBS and Wisconsin Public Radio. Their last shared stage? Luther College in 2010 during Josh’s LSM internship.

Now, 15 years later, they’ll reunite once more—this time at LSM 2025! Spencer returns to our faculty, and Josh will join as a guest performer.
