LSM Connections Continue at Michigan City Municipal Band Concert

LSM student Rylee Robison (LSM ‘25-’26) and her family attended the July 30 concert of the Michigan City Municipal Band (MCMB) in Michigan City, Indiana. The 158-year-old MCMB performs in a beautiful amphitheater adjacent to the Lake Michigan beach in Washington Park.

LSM faculty member Dr. Jeffrey Scott Doebler is conductor of the MCMB. Also performing with the band were LSM alumnus Ethan Preston (alto saxophone, LSM ‘21-22) and former LSM counselors Julie Plant (horn) and Sarah DeRossi Kelly (piccolo and flute). In the audience was LSM faculty member Prof. Nicole Lee. Dr. Doebler (music education and bands) and Prof. Lee (piano) teach at Valparaiso University.
