Planned Giving
Leave a Legacy of Faith and Music
By including Lutheran Music Program in your will, trust, or as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy, you help ensure that future generations of young musicians can experience the life-changing community of LSM.
Planned gifts not only create a lasting legacy of faith and music, but also offer benefits such as potential tax savings. These commitments can be updated at any time to reflect your circumstances and may be directed to support LSM broadly or toward specific priorities—such as student scholarships or endowment funding—ensuring that your gift reflects what matters most to you.
Types of Bequests
There are many ways to include LSM in your estate plans. Below is sample bequest language you may use as a helpful starting point in conversations with your attorney.
Specific Bequest: A gift for a specific dollar amount or asset.
I hereby give, devise and bequeath ____ and no/100 dollars ($____) to Lutheran Music Program, a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8687, Minneapolis, MN 55408, Federal Tax ID #47-0638445, for Lutheran Music Program’s general use and purpose.
A lasting legacy: supporters and students united through the gift of music.
Percentage Bequest: A specific percentage of your overall estate.
I hereby give, devise and bequeath ____ percent (____%) of my total estate, determined as of the date of my death, to Lutheran Music Program, a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8687, Minneapolis, MN 55408, Federal Tax ID #47-0638445, for Lutheran Music Program’s general use and purpose.
Residual Bequest: A bequest made from the balance of an estate after other specific bequests have been fulfilled.
I hereby give, devise and bequeath to Lutheran Music Program, a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8687, Minneapolis, MN 55408, Federal Tax ID #47-0638445, [ALL / PERCENTAGE%] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate for Lutheran Music Program’s general use and purpose.
Restricted Bequests
If you are interested in making a bequest to LSM for a specific purpose (for example, to establish a scholarship fund), please let us know. We would be happy to work with you and your attorney to discuss options and help craft language to ensure we’re able to honor your gift intent to the best of our ability.
J.S. Bach Society
Much like Bach’s enduring influence over classical and sacred music and the Church, the J.S. Bach Society honors individuals who have committed to LSM’s long-term impact by including Lutheran Music Program in their will or estate plans. Thanks to these individuals for their dedication to the sustainability and influence of LSM on students, congregations, and our community.
Soli Deo Gloria
We invite you to join the J.S. Bach Society and ensure your legacy of faith and music continues for generations to come.
