Fothergill Featured in “A Duke Workday”
LSM Cantor and alumnus Chad Fothergill (LSM 2000) was recently featured in Duke University's latest "A Duke Workday" video, titled The Chapel Organ as a Collection of Voices.
Chad's journey with Duke Chapel began in 2019 when he visited to assist with a Christmas special recording for CBS. That initial experience left a lasting impression, eventually leading to his appointment as Chapel Organist in 2023.
In his role, Chad leads and supports congregational singing during services and university events. He collaborates with the chapel’s choral ensembles, composes liturgical music, presents pre-concert lectures as part of the Bach cantata series, and coordinates weekly demonstrations and special tours of the chapel’s three main pipe organs.
Chad's dedication to music and education extends to his work with Lutheran Summer Music, where he has served as cantor since 2018. His leadership continues to inspire students and the broader church music community.
We celebrate Chad's contributions and the ways LSM alumni and faculty continue to lead through music!
