Young Musicians Partner Congregation Guide
The transformative experience of LSM builds connections for young people through music, community, and faith – but this goes beyond one summer. A key vision of LSM is to see churches and communities renewed through music for the sake of the world. Congregations that send students to LSM hold a unique and deep opportunity to integrate their students’ LSM experience into the youth and music ministry of their church. This page serves as a guide for congregations to invite students to LSM, support attending students, and bring students home to share their experiences.
INVITE
Promote LSM in your congregation and identify young musicians to send.

LSM Promotional Materials
Include LSM information in your church bulletins, newsletters, pre-worship slideshows, bulletin boards, or other church communications.

Nominate Students
Share LSM invitations directly with families, and nominate students to attend.
SEND
Support students through the process of preparing for LSM.

Music Audition
Students submit a music audition video for the LSM application. Help your student select music, or accompany their solo piece.

Financial Support
Many LSM students are financially supported by their churches, or fundraise within their congregation. LSM provides a 50% match, up to $500, to congregational funds.

Sending Litany
Include a prayer and blessing in a worship service for your LSM student(s), before they leave.
CONNECT
Witness your students’ experience at LSM.

Worship & Church Music Education
LSM students attend daily worship services, and also receive an orientation to worship leadership opportunities.

Program Updates
While LSM is in session, the Dean and Director of Admissions sends weekly email updates sharing about student activities and experiences in worship and music.

Concerts & Services
Major LSM performances and worship services are livestreamed. Tune in on your own, or set up a watch party for your congregation!
RECEIVE
Build your student’s LSM experience into the music ministry and worship life of your church.

LSM Presentation
Have your student present about their LSM experience in an adult education hour or youth group. Your student can use or customize this provided slideshow.

Church Music Resources
Incorporate free music from the LSM Press into your services, and invite your students to share their musical gifts!

Worship Participation
Invite your student to assist with worship leadership roles, assisting with communion distribution, ushering, reading, etc.
